Your first scene.
One useful click.
Connect Spline, describe a small scene and keep refining it in the same chat. Three original prompts to give your first experiment a clear shape.
- 01Add the Spline plugin
Use the official plugin in ChatGPT or Codex.
Open the plugin - 02Connect your Spline account
Sign in through the product’s official connection flow.
- 03Build, inspect, refine
Try a prompt below. Keep follow-up edits in that conversation.
Pick the thing you want to make.
Our original starting prompts.
Inspect and refine the result.
Start with one interaction. Follow-up requests should edit the same Spline file.
Make something you can touch.
A simple shape, a clean camera and an interaction you can check immediately.
Create a new Spline 3D scene with one rounded orange cube on a cream pedestal. Use a clean orthographic camera, a soft shadow and a plain cream background. Add one interaction: clicking the cube changes it from orange to deep blue. Keep the object count low. Show me the scene and keep it editable. Do not publish it.
In this same file, make the cube a little smaller and add a short rotation when it is clicked. Keep the camera and the background unchanged.

Know what you’re using.
Do I need a Spline account?
Yes. The plugin connects through Spline’s sign-in flow. Files are saved to that account. The hosted connection does not require a separate API key.
Does this work in ChatGPT and Codex?
Spline documents the same plugin for ChatGPT and Codex. In ChatGPT the Spline editor can open beside the conversation. The Codex CLI returns a link to the Spline editor.
Is Spline usage unlimited?
No. Spline actions count toward the daily allowance set by your Spline plan, with a per-minute cap. Check Spline’s current documentation and your account allowance.
Were these prompts tested in Spline?
These are our own suggested starting prompts, not tested results or official Spline templates. Our video shows credited excerpts from Spline’s launch demonstration. Inspect and refine what your session creates.
Can I download the pack?
Yes. The pack contains three original prompts, follow-up edits, setup notes and a checklist. Downloads use the same free newsletter signup as our other resource packs. This does not include Spline access or paid usage.
